“I don't know if I'm ever going to get my mind around all of this. It seems like a lot to believe and remember.”

“I would imagine it would be. If I woke up one day and realized that I was a witch I never knew about it before, I would imagine that I would feel the same way that you feel now. I don’t know if I can even imagine it, though.”

He smiled at Dahlia and told her that he was happy she was there. She knew it was weird to say, but considering that she had been in a place that she wasn't wanted for so long, it was really nice to hear it. There were many things that Dahlia wondered about Justin, and she wanted to ask him questions too, but they were all very personal questions, and Dahlia didn’t know how to just come out with it.

“I don’t know how I feel. I am starting to think that my whole life is a lie. I don’t know much about it.”

“Well, you have today to move forward. I wouldn’t worry about what happened in your past, Justin. You have to worry about your future.”

“What about what the witches made me do?”

“That wasn’t your fault. From what you’ve said, there wasn’t really much that you could do about it. I know that you’re worried about what tomorrow is going to bring, but you’re already better off then you were a few days ago. There is no telling how long they would have kept making you do their dirty work.”

He agreed, but Dahlia could see that something was holding him back. She wanted to help him, but Dahlia didn’t know how. The only thing that made sense at the moment was to be with Justin.

She leaned against his shoulder and tried to calm herself down. Being with Justin had brought up a lot of feelings that she wasn't ready to deal with. They were especially hard to process because he was a shifter. She knew better, and every time she thought about it, reality set in and told her that it was wrong even to think that was a possibility. She knew the rules.

But he felt good when she was leaned up against him. It felt right, like she was supposed to be there, and she never wanted the feeling to go away. Dahlia was trying her best to pull herself together. She knew what could happen. If he made her feel the way she did now, there was bound to be a problem if she let it go any further.

Dahlia was far more worried about how she was going to get on with her duties. She had a potion that she needed to keep out of the wrong person's hands. That was going to be easier said than done, like everything else in her life at the moment.

“What is going through your mind?”

  “Why?”

“I can just feel that you're upset, and I want to know if I can help you, Dahlia. You have helped me so much. Why did you have to come get that bottle today? Is it really that important?”

Dahlia couldn't explain to him how important it actually was. The power that the potion had was not something to be taken lightly. Most of the people that knew about it just thought that it was a myth. The people that knew better wanted it for themselves.

Dahlia, of course, knew better; her whole family did. They had had the option to use it many times in the past, but their whole job as a coven was to keep it safe. Now that Dahlia was basically the last one in her immediate line, it was now her job to keep it safe. The weight of the responsibility was hard to fathom and even harder to explain. Justin had a lot to learn about being supernatural. He was unused to the rules, but she wasn't. She knew what would happen if somebody else got ahold of the potion.

“Yes, Justin, it really is that important. I wouldn't have risked coming here if it weren't.”

“Do you think you're in danger here?”

It was like he was considering something that he hadn't considered before and he didn't like it. Dahlia was thankful that he cared, but at the same time, his curiosity did not help the situation. The only thing that could help her situation now was to get out of town and get as far away from everyone there that she possibly could.

“I don't know, to be honest. I want to say that there is nobody coming for me, but I really can't be sure.”

“I feel the same way. I feel like the witches are going to come find me because they said at one point that they would never let me go. Now I'm wondering if they have that much power or if they were just trying to scare a young boy.”

“If you were living with the coven you said you were living with, I think that any fear you had was well placed.”

“You're not that good at calming someone down; you know that, right?”

“You're probably right about that. I believe that truth is far better than comfort. Comfort is overrated.”

That made Justin chuckle and she couldn’t help smiling back at him. He was so handsome, and it was then that she realized his arm was around her. It had been for some time, but she had missed it. Now it was enveloping her in his manly scent, and she pushed the hair out of her face.

He had this look in his eyes, and she knew that he was going to kiss her before he leaned in. It was slow and steady, like the man in front of her. Justin didn’t rush the issue, even though she felt like it was the thing to do. It was Dahlia that had to deepen the kiss when Justin was still just pressing his lips against hers.

Dahlia felt a surge of need go through her, and she pushed her tongue in between his lips. It was out of character for her, but Justin brought something out in her. He made her want to say and do things that were out of character. What she wanted at the moment was to feel like everything was going to be okay. Even though her life had turned into a real shit-show, that didn’t mean that Dahlia wanted to keep it that way. Justin made her feel normal, if even for just a moment.

She found herself wanting more when his tongue started to move with her. He wasn’t as dominant as she would have guessed him to be. He was a shifter, after all.

Moving herself onto his lap, Dahlia could feel the hard length that she was hoping to find. It was pressing against her as she straddled his legs. When she pulled away and looked down at Justin, he had a look on his face that she didn’t recognize.

  “What?”

  “Nothing, it’s just…”

She was suddenly unsure of herself and slid off of his lap. Dahlia was expecting need and desire. She wasn’t expecting confusion.

“Sorry, I shouldn’t have done that. I don’t know what has come over me.”

  “No, it was nice.”

Nice. Dahlia didn’t know what to say. She wanted him to say and do so many things but calling it nice was not something that Dahlia was prepared for. She just looked at him for a moment and then felt a wave of embarrassment rush over her. She knew better. What was she thinking?

“I am sorry about that. I don't know what was going through my head.”

Dahlia got up and started to walk to the railing of the porch. There was nothing but darkness and words in front of her, and embarrassment behind her. It was all more than she wanted to deal with. Dahlia was starting to think that staying the night was the last thing that she needed to do. Maybe getting some distance between this place and her was the best thing that she could do at this juncture.

“I don't know why you are upset all of a sudden.”

“I'm not upset, Justin. I just thought you were going to respond a little differently. I shouldn't have thrown myself at you, and I apologize for that.”

“Like I said, Dahlia, there is nothing to apologize for. It just took me off guard, that's all. That was the first time I have ever kissed a woman, or at least that I remember.”

Dahlia wasn't sure what to say to that. She waited for him to smile and say that it was all a joke. The idea that he did not have any experience in kissing a woman was hard for her to imagine. Justin was gorgeous, and he had a very sweet disposition. He was a catch in any world.

“When you say that you've never kissed anyone, do you mean that?” She was incredulous. She couldn’t help it. The idea of it was hard to fathom.

He chuckled, though it was strained. Dahlia could tell that he was turned on, even if he hadn't done what she wanted him to do. She was starting to realize th
at there was something else there, something that she had missed before. Or was it just confusion, but a little bit of fear as well? The need that she had expected was underneath all of that, burning into her.

“I have never been with a woman in a romantic way before. I was always helping the Aunts and didn’t have time to do my own thing.”

It was hard for her to imagine what he was saying. It was even harder to imagine that a man that was so hot, would never take time for women. She was certainly starting to think that Justin was different than anyone she’d ever met before. He had no idea the way he reached everyone. He had no idea his power, but Dahlia knew it all too well. She was having an impossible time ignoring the new feelings sweeping through her.

Maybe it was time for Justin to try new things and for her to follow her heart for once. This wasn’t coincidence and the way she felt about him wasn’t just temporary. Dahlia needed Justin badly, even if he wasn’t sure about it all yet. She was sure.

“I think you should make time now, Justin. Don’t you think?”

Dahlia was feeling brave, and she set the drink down and started to pull her shirt off. The night air touched her skin, cooling it immediately. Considering how hot and bothered she was, the breeze felt good, and it only fanned the flames of her desire once more.

She pulled the shirt off and tossed it on the swing. His eyes were darkening, and she knew then that he’d gotten the eyeful that he needed.

  Chapter Ten

Justin thought he was going to swallow his tongue. The view in front of him stopped him from doing anything so mundane. Dahlia seemed to know it too. She had a look of triumph in her face., once he stood up and pulled her in for another kiss.

While he did not have much experience, it was not needed apparently. His body was telling him exactly what he needed, and all he had to do was listen. Before long, Justin had her back in the same position as she had been in before. Now she was waiting for him to move forward.

As soon as he got her on his lap, Dahlia was quick to take over a little bit. He was thankful for that, considering he wasn't sure what was supposed to happen.

He needed her since the moment he met her and things hadn’t changed. She was the only bright part of an otherwise dark existence. The more Justin learned about himself, the more he realized that he had been lied to the whole time. But being with Dahlia was the realist thing that had ever happened. He never wanted that feeling to go away.

Their lips met in another kiss, and Dahlia's hips pressed down hard on his lap. Every bit of him was dying with the need for her, but she did not seem to notice. Justin was sure that everything that he was feeling was too much. Surely, people did not always feel this way. If they did, Justin had a feeling that everything would be different. If everyone felt the way he felt at that moment, there would have been no need for hate or war. It was a perfect feeling, and Dahlia was increasing it by the moment.

Before he could think about what was going to happen next, she was taking her bra off and pushing his face into her chest. The most natural thing to do was take one of the tips into his mouth and suckle it. Dahlia gave out a whimpering sound that made the need inside of his pants jerk.

Desire was taking over, and Justin moved to the other nipple and sucked it a little harder. He liked the gasping sound that she made when he did it, and before long, he had one in his mouth and one in his hand that he was rolling around in his fingers. Dahlia was rubbing herself on him, and at some point, he had to stop her. She was going so quickly that he was unable to pull himself together.

He tried to stop her hips, but instead, she just moved a little faster and then pushed down on top of him. She had this whine to her tone that was hard to ignore, and he was sure that he was going to lose himself right then and there.

“Please slow down, Dahlia. I need a minute.”

Dahlia was not listening. She was being led by her desires and before he could do much else, he felt her hands at his pants. They started to unzip and then she pulled them down completely. He could see himself pressed up against her skirt and then the skirt was lifted and he was pressed against heat that he had never imagined before. It was a wet sort of heat, and his member could feel the difference. Justin was so turned on that he had to ignore the feelings inside of him. He did not want to lose himself in that moment.

The more that he worried about it, the less Dahlia seemed to. She pulled her panties to the side and took him into her hand. Justin was doing his best to ignore the throbbing need inside of him. He was sure that the only way he was going to be able to fix himself was to somehow fight the need that was rising inside of him. She had no idea what she was doing to him.

Then Justin felt it for the first time. He was surrounded by wet heat, and he felt himself losing it. It came out in one burst of energy and Dahlia seemed to like it that way. She had the sweetest sound of submission on her lips. The sound of it drove him crazy.

He cursed out loud when she sank down all the way on top of him. It was an overwhelming feeling and the tightness of her arms around his neck made it so that it was impossible to look away.

Justin was trying to imagine how he could feel any different than he did at the moment. He wondered how he was able to survive without being inside of her the whole time.

All of that felt fine and well, but Justin did not realize that there was so much more of that he needed to prepare for. So many new desires blossomed inside of him that he didn't even know existed, taking over every bit of him. Justin realized that he did not want to go another day without her. From the moment that she slipped him inside of her, Justin felt like they had become one.

Dahlia leaned over to kiss him, and it just pushed him deeper inside of her. Now, the sound that she made was like music to his ears, and he thrust upwards to make her gasp. She had a submissive sound to her, and the more he tried to ignore it, the more he realized he wasn't going to be able to. She just felt perfect. The infernal pleasure that enveloped him was more than he would ever be able to handle quietly.

He held her hips as he kept thrusting up inside of her over and over again. The initial reaction and the collapse of her inner walls around his erection was all that he needed for an answer. She made him feel so good, and he wasn't ready to give that up.

Justin could feel overwhelming pleasure, and he worried that it was all going to be over too soon. Instead of thrusting up at a fast pace like he had been doing, making her explode over and over again, he slowed down to enjoy the moment. All he needed was some assurance that she would be his forever.

He held her down so that she would have a minute to collect herself, but it didn't seem to go as planned. Dahlia climaxed again while he was holding her down and started to clench him quickly and hard. He tried to avoid the overwhelming need that came over him, but it was impossible to do. He was convinced that she knew it too.

“I can't tell you how good you are feeling, Dahlia.”

She was whimpering, and he was worried that something was wrong. When he asked her about it, she just made another sound.

  “Does it hurt?”

She shook her head vigorously and told him that it didn't.

  “It feels too good.”

He had never heard of such nonsense and did not know if he believed it or not.

He started to move inside of her again, and she held on to his neck to give herself some leverage.

Justin moved faster because the need inside of him told him to do so. As much as he had been fighting the pleasure that threatened to overtake him, Justin knew that it was an impossible feat. Dahlia was making louder sounds that turned him on even more.

What really got to him was when she started to back up to go harder and faster. She was on the precipice of an orgasm and wanted to be pushed through. It was all he could do to make it better for her. When she started to explode on his member again, it was the last straw for Justin. He couldn't hold himself together any longer and filled her with his hot need.

  She stayed on his
lap for some time, straddling him and holding his neck while he released inside of her. Justin knew that even though his whole body was exhausted, at the same time, he would have taken her again if that would have been an option.

Before he could ask her about it, Dahlia slid off of him, and he caught his breath. Justin just sat there for several moments. He could close his eyes and still feel her insides, just like he was still in them.

He wanted to get back there.

  Chapter Eleven

“That was…wow, Justin. I don’t know what to say. I have never felt anything so good in all of my life.”

Justin didn’t know what to say. He would have said the same thing, but Dahlia already knew that. She could see him struggling with words. Dahlia’s whole body was strumming.

She had thought that she would initiate Justin into the world of sex and pleasure, but he seemed a very quick study. Now, she was the one that wasn’t able to put words together. A woman couldn’t feel such feelings and not question everything.

The fact that Justin was a shifter made everything more complicated, so the look on her face was certainly not as calm as his. After what just happened, Dahlia didn’t know if she would ever be able to be calm again.

They went inside, and considering what they had just done together, it seemed rather silly for him to sleep anywhere but with her in the bed. They were laying there together, and Dahlia was fixated on the fan above her.

“Are you sure you don't want to do it again?”

She kind of laughed for a minute and told him that she needed a bit of a break.

“I didn't realize that. I thought you had done this before.”

“I have done it before, but I don't think it ever felt like that. That was way different than what I am used to, and you are rather large.”

  “What are you used to?”

Dahlia had not been with that many people, but she knew for certain that what had just occurred between her and Justin was something else altogether. There was no way that that was normal.
